Recommendation (EU) No. 2015/1381 published August 10,2015 sets up monitoring of levels of Arsenic in certain foods.
Member states have to search inorganic Arsenic and Arsenic Total on 2016, 2017 and 2018 for the following matrices:

– Cereal grains, cereal based products (including bran and germ)
– Fruit and vegetable juices
– Drinking water (including bottled water)
– Coffee, dry tea leaves
– Beer
– Fish and sea food
– Vegetables
– Algae products (including hijiki)
– Milk, dairy products
– Foods intended for infants and young children, food for special medical purposes
– Food supplements

The obtained data will be forwarded to EFSA for compilation into a database. This in order to enable an accurate estimation of exposure.

Also note that according to Regulation (EU) 2015/1006, as from 1 January 2016, inorganic arsenic will be regulated in rice and certain derivative products including rice for the production of infant food.
