Residues of pesticides

The analysis of pesticide residues and their metabolites in different products is extremely complex, due to the highly varied chemical properties of the active substances, and analysis matrix interference.

Analytical investigation involves diverse extraction and injection protocols as well as highly evolved detection systems such as tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS). This technique is indispensable for guaranteeing the reliability of chromatography results on all types of matrix.

The PHYTOCONTROL team has unique expertise in the field, and further benefits from access to a highly specific, highly advanced analytical platform exclusively dedicated to the research of pesticide residues:

The chromatographic equipment is coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (GCMS/MS and LCMS/MS) and can be equipped with additional specific modules to improve performance or to improve detection limits for certain types of matrix (GCMS/HeadSpace, GCMS/SBSE, GCMS/SPME, LCMS/MS Qtrap, GCMS/MS Ion Trap..).

Our state-of-the-art technology, together with our specific know-how enables us to screen for all active substances and their metabolites and degradation products, with the highest possible precision, using the most efficient and innovative methods, thus guaranteeing you the best analytical balance in terms of quality, time and cost.

Phytocontrol is accredited by COFRAC LB GTA26 (Program 99.2) to screen for pesticides in all fatty and non-fatty products of plant or animal origin, including food intended for human (incl. child) or animal consumption.

Whatever the sample type : fruit and vegetables, processed foods and their derivatives, seafood, animal feeds, infant food products (to a threshold of 3ppb to 10 ppb), fruit juices, wines and spirits, cereals and oil-producing produce, dairy produce, fats and oils, aromatic plants, oleoresins, essential oils, fragrances, cosmetics and pharmaceutical products, Phytocontrol will advise you on the most suitable analytical test for you in terms of your quality and price requirements :

  • Multiresidue analysis by the latest generation GCMSMS & LCMSMS operated at various scanning levels for particularly in-depth and comprehensive data, covering more than 500 materials, including all active substances of interest
  • Personalized analyses, based on local technical procedures, or tailored to your own specifications
  • Targeted analyses adapted to your matrix, with an analytical program recommended by our highly experienced team
  • Regulatory analyses: European Pharmacopoeia, Regulation EC 396/2005, and regulations covering infant foods n° EC 2006/125 and EC 2006/141
  • Reactive analyses undertaken in response to community alerts and national vigilance warnings.
