Pesticide residue analyses are Phytocontrol's core business.

Our expertise and our latest-generation analytical equipment guarantee you an efficient and reactive service.

Pesticides consist of one or more active substances intended to control or destroy harmful [pests] and undesirable elements on plants and animals. Synthetic or derived from natural products, they include herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, growth regulators and repellents. Pesticide residue analysis establishes the residual content of the active substance in the product analysed (the matrix).

According to EFSA, Maximum residue limits (MRLs) are the upper levels of legally permitted pesticide residues in or on food and feed. They are based on good agricultural practices and the principle of the lowest possible consumer exposure in order to protect the most vulnerable consumers. They are obtained after a full evaluation of the properties of the active substance and the intended uses of the pesticide. All issues related to the legal limits of pesticide residues in food and feed are regulated by Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 .

Unique expertise in pesticide analyses

Phytocontrol has a unique expertise in the field and possesses an extensive analytical park of very last generation exclusively dedicated to the research of pesticides, in or in specific monoresidus.

The chromatographic apparatus is coupled in tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS & LC-MS/MS) and can be equipped with complementary modules better adapted for certain specific assays or to improve the detection limits on certain matrices (GCMS/Head Space, GCMS/SBSE, GCMS/SPME, LCMS/MS Qtrap, GCMS/MS Ion Trap, LC-QTOF).

Phytocontrol's expertise covers the following sectors: Conventional Food, Organic Agriculture, Babyfood, Cosmetics and Pharmaceuticals:

Phytocontrol is accredited by COFRAC according to LB GTA26 (program 99.2) for pesticide research in all fatty and non-fat products of plant and animal origin including human, infant and animal food.

Phytocontrol will answer your problem and advise you the best analytical synergy quality/price:

  • GC-MS/MS & LC-MS/MS screening multi-residue analyses of the latest generation at different scanning levels particularly relevant and exhaustive covering more than 600 active materials including all active ingredients of interest analysable by multi-residue method
  • Customised analyses according to"your own specifications or the technical cultural itinerary"
  • Targeted analyses adapted to your matrix with analytical menus proposed by our experts and based on our experience
  • Regulatory analyses: EU Pharmacopoeia, US Pharmacopoeia, EC Regulation 396/2005, EC Food Regulations 2006/125 and 2006/141
  • Reactive monoresidue analyses in response to community alerts and calls for vigilance. And beyond that, all other active ingredients or degradation metabolites requiring a specific dosage method, growth substances, fumigants, and certain related phytosanitary contaminants:
