Determination of Chloramphenicol content
Chloramphenicol is a broad spectrum antibiotic which is prohibited by Regulation (EU) No 37/2010.
According to Regulation (EU) No 37/2010, it is strictly forbidden to administer this substance to food-producing animals.
Our R&D department has recently developed a Chloramphenicol analysis method by LC/MS/MS to a LOQ of 0.1µg/kg on Eggs, Muscles, Milk, Honey and Fishery products.
According to decision of the Commission 2003/181/EC amending Decision 2002/657/EC, Chloramphenicol methods of analysis must respect a MRPL (Required Performance Limit) of 0.3µg/kg. MRPL correspond to minimum content of an analyte in a sample which at least has to be detected.
The method developed by our R&D department perfectly responds to the European regulation because LOQ of our method is well below MRPL required to chloramphenicol.
