Allergens

By combining the most advanced and appropriate chromatographic and biotechnologic analytical techniques, LC-MS / MS, real time PCR, Elisa, PHYTOCONTROL is able to determine the content of all food allergens from the European regulations.

Regulation (EU) 1169/2011 “INCO” specifies the rules for labeling 14 potential allergens ingredients to be mentioned according to the Directive 2007/68 / EC

  • Cereals containing gluten (wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelled, kamut or their hybridised strains) and products derivate from cereal
  • seafood and shellfish and crustacean products (eg. crabs, lobsters, shrimp)
  • Eggs and eggs products
  • fish and fish products
  • Peanuts and derivate products
  • Soybeans and derivate products
  • Milk and dairy products (including lactose)
  • Nuts (almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, Brazil nuts, pistachios, macadamia nuts and Queensland nuts) and derivate products
  • Celery and derivate products
  • Mustard and derivate products
  • Sesame seeds and derivate products
  • sulphur dioxide and sulphites at concentrations of more than 10 mg / kg or 10 mg / liter expressed as SO2
  • Lupin and derivatives
  • mollusks (clams, mussels, oysters, shells St-Jacques) and basic shellfish products

Regulation EC / 41/2009 defines thresholds for products declared “gluten-free” (20 mg / kg) and the products ‘low gluten’ (100 mg / kg). Thresholds for other allergens are being established.
